About

Dr. Shu Wang is a Sr. Staff Researcher at Palo Alto Networks. He received his Ph.D. degree from George Mason University, working with Prof. Kun Sun. Prior to his doctoral studies, he got master’s degree in Computer Vision and bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He had research intern at Visa and applied scientist intern at Amazon.

His research interests lie primarily in the intersection of computer security and machine learning. His Ph.D. research focuses on the mitigation of attack surfaces in open-source software (software security), voice recognition (biometric security), and public AI services (AI security). He also has research experience on computer vision and image processing. His papers appear in IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, NDSS, USENIX Security.

He likes hiking, badminton, and photography. He enjoys getting in touch with the natural world.

[CCS 24] One paper on GenAI security (intern at Visa) got minor revision from CCS 2024.
[NDSS 24] Made a paper presentation on audio security in NDSS 2024 at San Diego.
[AsiaCCS 24] One paper on binary code analysis is accepted by AsiaCCS 2024.
[PACM-HCI EICS 24] One paper on manual to video is accepted by PACM-HCI EICS 2024.
[USENIX Security 24] One paper on software security is accepted by USENIX Security 2024.
